TRANSFORMICE

Transformice is an independent multiplayer free-to-play online platform browser game created by French designers known by their aliases Melibellule and Tigrounette. Melibellule produces the game’s artwork and graphics, while Tigrounette programs the game’s functions and mechanics.

The main objective of the game is to collect a piece of cheese placed randomly around a map. Players control a mouse with the arrow keys, numeric keypad or the WASD keys to run, duck, jump and perform various techniques, such as wall jumping and corner jumping. Players mice must touch the cheese to collect it. After which, the player must take the collected cheese back to the map’s mouse hole to finish. The number of cheese and mouse holes varies between maps. Players are awarded points on a scoreboard that is updated in real-time.

Bonus points are awarded for players who place first, second or third. Collecting cheese is recorded into a player’s permanent stats. Players are also given extra recognition in their stats for finishing first. Maps have a time limit of two minutes, at which time a new map is loaded. Maps can instantly switch before the time limit if all mice complete the map or die. The timer will change to 20 seconds if the Shaman dies or too few mice are left on the map. Dying adds one point to a player’s score on the scoreboard.

When a player reaches the highest score on the scoreboard, they will become a Shaman in the next map involving one. The general objective of the Shaman is to help the other mice to reach the cheese and bring it back to the hole. Doing so will award the Shaman with “saves” for each mouse who completes the map, which are recorded onto the player’s profile. The Shaman can do so by summoning objects such as boards, boxes, anvils, spirit, and balloons to create buildings or contraptions such as bridges to cross gaps or various other obstacles. A shaman can ‘anchor’ or connect boards and boxes to other world objects or summoned objects with various-colored nails. Red nails keep an object firmly grounded and will not move, but it can rotate on the anchor. Yellow nails connect to most other objects, particularly red-nailed ones, and keep an object’s placement, but can move. Green nails connect two objects but are loose and can rotate an object.

Upon reaching 1,000 total saves as a Shaman, a player can choose to become a ‘hard mode’ Shaman. In hard mode, a Shaman cannot use red nails which anchor an object solidly, nor can they use the Spirit tool, which can push mice and objects with a flash of light. Spirit is the only object allowed to be cast outside of summoning range. In lieu of this, hard mode Shamans can create a pre-made ‘totem’, which is constructed on an in-game editor map. Totems can be constructed with up to 20 objects, but only one red nail may be used as an anchor. A completed totem construction can be summoned instantly as a hard mode Shaman and is immediately functional, but may only be summoned once per map.

Collected cheese is also saved up and used as currency in the game. Players can use this currency to buy virtual clothing items for their mouse in the game’s item shop. Items are purely visual and do not give bonus stats. Players can also create their own maps via an in-game editor. Created maps must be verified by a test run of the map where the creator has to be able to successfully collect the cheese and bring it back to the hole. Once verified, players can choose to submit their map into rotation at the cost of 40 cheese.

An in-game achievement system awards players with new titles. Titles are awarded for collecting specific numbers of cheese, obtaining a certain amount of first place victories, accumulating saves as a Shaman and buying items from the shop.

Trolling is considered a part of the game, as stated in the in-game ‘Help/Rules’ menu. Some players infrequently decide to troll, whether playing as the Shaman or a normal mouse. Shamans can kill other mice by striking them with cannonballs and other objects, as well as blocking them from progressing in the map by building a structure that is impossible to pass. Normal mice can troll by stalling, which is to stay on the map for as long as possible without capturing the cheese. Normal mice may also choose to push the Shaman’s buildings off the stage. In maps where there is collision detection, they can also push other mice, including the Shaman, off the stage.

Taking a Hike – Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls Langkawi

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls in the north west of Langkawi Island comprises of seven interconnected pools fed by seven waterfalls. The waterfalls are in three segments and 638 steps up a steep hillside take visitors right to the top. Many stop at the second stage to enjoy a dip in the seven pools there.

Telaga Tujuh means seven wells and this refers to seven interconnected freshwater pools fed by seven waterfalls located in the northwestern corner of Langkawi Island. The waterfalls are part of the Machinchang Forest Reserve that is a dipterocarp rain forest. Not only do the tall trees of the rainforest provide a gorgeous backdrop for the waterfalls but it also harbours several species of endemic fauna.

The site is easily reachable by any mode of motorized transport and part of the way can be accessed by the Langkawi cable car as well. However visitors have to climb up 638 slippery steps at an angle of 45 to 60 degrees to get right to the top of the hill, the source of the waterfall. Since the waterfall is in three segments many just do two segments being exhausted from the climb. Those who have done the full climb estimate the first waterfall is reachable in about 10 minutes. The middle waterfall apparently can be reached in 20 minutes from the first. This is where the pools or wells are located and many visitors stop here to take a cooling dip in the pools which is really nice on a hot day. Another 15 minute climb from stage II takes visitors right to the top where those who have done it enthuse about the view. The whole trip takes up to 45 minutes, depending on individual fitness levels. The last waterfall, that is the first to come into view, cascades 90 meters to the foot of the mountain. The middle section of Telaga Tujuh waterfalls is the most impressive as unfortunately the bottom sections tends to dry up into a trickle particularly during the dry season. As with many waterfalls it is seen at its best after the rains. The hike through the rainforest to get to the sites brings into view long tailed Macaques, cream colour giant squirrels and even the occasional hornbill. Clearly marked hiking trails and visitor facilities at the foot of the falls and at the top makes climbing up and spending time there that much easier. The site has no opening and closing times. No one really attempts the climb late because the thick forest canopy makes the place dark pretty quickly.

Located on an idyllic 500 meter beach with views of tiny offshore islands, Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa offers the ideal tropical holiday destination. The selection of accommodation at this Langkawi beach resort includes superior and premium rooms, one and two bedroom suites finished in cool tones, with modern comforts and conveniences. Bullying: Do Some People’s Childhoods Set Them Up To Be Bullied?

There are many forms of bullying around today and some of these are more overt than others. At times, this is done in a way that is so subtle, that it can take place without anyone even noticing.

And while bullying has taken place for many, many years, and is nothing new, the internet has created new ways for it to occur. No longer do they need to be face to face with someone, they can do it from a safe distance and even anonymously.

It also doesn’t matter how old someone is, what colour their skin is or where they are from either, as it can happen to anyone.

Support

So it is vital that when someone is being bullied, that they don’t put up with it and that they reach out for support. Because if someone has just started being bullied or has been in this position for quite some time, they might come to the conclusion that they deserve it.

It could be taken personally and as a sign of one’s true value. However, what it does reveal is the mental and emotional state of the person that is doing the bullying. And how they are the ones who need to engage in some kind of self reflection and to look into what they are projecting onto other people.

Self Reflection

What is clear is that when someone does bully another, they are unaware of how their own projections are defining how they see another. And that what the other person is or is not doing is more or less irrelevant.

All the other people are doing is triggering something within them and through a lack of awareness around what this is; they act out and inflict the pain or the conflict that they are experiencing onto others.

So if their level of self awareness increased, it is likely that their need to bully others would also subside; simply because they are taking responsibility for their own issues, instead of projecting them onto others.

Belief

Now, just because someone doesn’t deserve to be treated badly by others, it doesn’t mean that they believe this. And this could be something one is consciously aware of or something that is just below the surface for example.

When one does have this outlook about themselves on the inside, it will be known externally through how they behave and the energetic resonance they give off. But while these two things could reflect that one doesn’t value themselves, it doesn’t mean that they are aware of it.

Attraction

Although it can appear as though bullies chose people at random and that anyone will do, there is usually a lot more to it than that. This doesn’t mean that they consciously select people, as it can happen unconsciously and without them needing to think about who they can take advantage of.

There is going to be certain types of behaviour that they look for in others; if they don’t behave in these ways, then they might not even bother. So even though there are going to be wide range of behaviours, there are going to be ones that continually appear.

Boundaries

And what can be common for people who are bullied is the inability to stand up for themselves. So having boundaries and therefore being able to say no, could be something they struggle with.

Letting people walk all over them and to do as other people say could be what feels safe. And this causes them to be submissive and passive: the perfect combination for a bully. It will be like honey to a bee.

This is not to say that this is what always happens; as it is also possible for people who are able to stand up for themselves to be gradually worn down.

Causes

In order for someone to find it difficult to stand their ground and to have strong and healthy boundaries, no matter what their age, there has to be a reason for it. It could be that they have had experiences in their adult life that have worn them down.

But what is more likely is that the kind of childhood that they had set them up to be a target. This doesn’t have to be a childhood that was overly abusive though; it could be due to something that was a lot less severe, but left a mark nevertheless.

Examples

One may have been brought up by caregivers that didn’t allow them to say no or to realise that they had their own personal space. And how this personal space is sacred and needs to be protected. So letting other people onto their space is then normal and it then doesn’t feel safe for them to do anything about it.

A more extreme example would relate to someone who was physically abused by their caregiver/s. Their personal space would have been completely violated and it would not have been possible for them to protect themselves.

Vulnerable

And what these kinds of experiences would have done is make one vulnerable to being treated badly by others. From a young age, they were conditioned to put up with this kind of behaviour. This is then what became normal and familiar and familiar is what is classed as safe to the ego mind.

Awareness

So if one finds that they continually end up in situations where they are being taken advantage off, then it might be necessary for them to look at their history. The past can’t be changed, but what happened in the past would have created certain beliefs and caused one to experience certain feelings.

It is possible that how one felt would have ended up being trapped in their body. So these beliefs will need to be changed and the trapped feelings will need to be released. Ones behaviour will then change and the energetic resonance they give off will also change.

This can be done with the assistance of a therapist, healer or a coach. Or one could engage in some kind of self reflection and make the changes themselves. The type of help that one needs can all depend on how much of a challenge this is.
